Flipping through an interior design magazine, I came across this incredibly decadent Vivienne Westwood lace cut-out wall paper.
Westwood has designed an entire line of Wallpapers with British legends of hand printed wallpaper, Cole and Sons, with inspiration coming from her exquisite fashion collections.
Cole and Sons has been in business for over 100 years, they still create using skilled craftsmen, and use original prints from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.
While we support the craftsmanship, beauty, and spirit of their work, it is a bit costly. It inspired me to think of ways to use/re-use interesting fabric as wall coverings in a more economical, eco-friendly way:
- A wall of vintage lace curtains for a dramatic wall of texture and movement;
- Floor to ceiling panels of fabric spaced to create strips on a long, bare wall;
- Fabric attached to the large canvas. Other objects could be added as another option.
As usual, Vivienne Westwood is an inspiration!

Oh Vivienne,such an inspiration.I may need a tiara myself.
I know! I’m feeling a tiara moment coming on myself.
