Happy Housewife Creations by Jeanette Bemis

Jeanette is a third generation native of San Francisco and has been having fun sewing nostalgic house wife items from the vintage fabrics collected by her Mother. Her collection consists of aprons both full and half sizes as seen above. (Full outfit features top by Darina Drapkin, necklace by S&S, and bloomers by Calliebug.)
She also makes aprons for kids like this clown apron and potholder set. One of our popular housewarming gifts are Jeanette’s flour sack towels. She makes them with vintage fabric and includes a poem by Colleen Hubert that tells the story of the Flour Sack- see excerpt here:
“In that long ago time when things were saved,
When roads were graveled and barrels were staved,
When worn out clothing was used as rags,
And there were no plastic wrap or bags,
And the well and the pump were way out back,
A versatile item was the flour sack.”

This towel detail shown here is part of a set that includes the heart pot holder and retails for $25. When you need a bridal shower gift or a kitchen pick-me-up come over and grab a few of Jeanette’s wonderful hand made items.

  1. Jeanette’s aprons also make great hostess gifts, especially to impress the mother of a significant other. If you find something you like, snatch it up! She never makes the same thing twice!
