The Hemp Show was a sweet success with a happy crowd of interested buyers, enjoying Rosenblum wine and mixing with the energetic models wearing head-to-toe sustainable, luxurious fabrics! Continue reading
This fantastic event is giving me life! Join me for a night of luxury, glamour, and glorification of the plant that has over 25,000 different uses! While she has been misunderstood, neglected and underestimated, HEMP is now coming into her own and I am showcasing her with might and muse!
I have finished my year long focus in oils on hemp and am bringing you my results plus education in The Hemp Show hanging this very moment in Rosenblum Cellars Winery at The Ferry Building in Oakland’s Jack London Square. You can get a peek at some of the art here, while the rest will be unveiled online after this Artist Reception Event.

So here’s a bit of interesting synchronicity….
I ran across this Benefit Event for Creative Arts Charter- which happens to be where one of my son’s best friends attends school and it’s hosted by a fantastic eco minded brand retail shop! I’ll be there this Friday for facepainting! Continue reading
“Just because I’m not a size 12, doesn’t mean I have any less of a life to live. I’m a big girl…& I have a big life to live.” -Tess Munster

There are many characters of Jubilieu with stories to finish, but the satisfaction of seeing the first one complete from imagination to entertainment reality is quite satisfying.
And even better, come to the reception and hear judy-b read them aloud!
Until then, you can get a preview here.
May the artistic exploratory stretching continue! xxoo Yabette
Yes, I said spawn. Create. Engender. Yield. Beget. I am feeling the effects of the push as 5 new paintings in oils were born this week in preparation for the June 22nd event that celebrates the arrival of Jubilieu in the Castro. They have been miraculously drying faster than I think they should in the chilly, wet fog of San Francisco June.
As I paint, their stories have been swirling around in my head. They will be available to be heard online as recordings read by voice over talent, producer, and lit artist, judy-b. I am going to produce a coffee table book as well. A Hard back, full color rendition of the Jubilieu characters and stories will be available along with the original oil works.
This is a new stretch for me. I’ve had thoughts in my head that come from fear trying to hold me back. They are banished in the name of new growth.
So every Sunday leading to the show, I have been painting live out front of this bright establishment (with the perfect afternoon delights for high tea or a caffeine fix.)
Here are a few of the works in progress from the sunny sidewalk of Sweet Inspiration.
Feel free to come over and sit in the window next to me. I love to chat while I work and you will surely love the delectable dining and the lively, creative atmosphere. I have a curated mix of some new works and some from the last show currently in the viewing gallery for your pleasure and purchasing perusal. -xxooYabette
In my meditation and prayer practice, I often send love and light to the creatures of Earth’s oceans. I saw the synchronicity for me to be contacted about this event. I was honored to be asked to donate Beluga towards the Save Lolita Fundraising Event in Chicago this May.
Lolita is a real whale at a water park in Florida who has been held captive for 40 years and has the best chance of being moved out of her inhumane residence back to the wild with her pod, where she belongs. Get the full story of Lolita here. If you have not seen the Blackfish movie, please do so to further educate yourself on this topic.
Update: Live Auction here!
The deliciousness of having an art show for the culmination of two years of oil painting at a place that features my favorite sumptuous treat is hard to surpass. I am pleased that my work is presented at Sweet Inspiration for this month of April, 2014. Join me for the Artist Reception from 4-7 on Sunday, April 13 at 2239 Market St. in the Castro neighborhood of SF.
Whether you are on a journey of healing, or simply need to improve the feng shui of your space, consider buying an original signed piece. Each one comes with an Authenticity Record of the sale and blessings for your support. If you cannot make the reception, the art will be hanging and available for purchase through the month of April, 2014 or browse the online shop here.
