At Swankety Swank, we know everyone’s an artist. Make the time and invest in yourself this fall at our special San Francisco space. We’re working on perfect projects for the gift-giving season. We accept drop-ins, unless the class is full. Sign up to ensure you are in it!

Wire WrappingAmy Barrios of Independent Claws Jewelry

In this class you will learn to make uniform wire loops with wire, an essential and invaluable jewelry making skill that can be applied to multiple designs. In the first class, you will create two pairs of earrings using your wire wrapping skills. In the second class, you will create a bracelet (or necklace) integrating wire-wrapped beads on headpins. By the end of the second class, you will be comfortable working with head pins, jump rings, ear wires, and 22-gauge wire and have left-over materials to continue making your own custom wire-wrapped jewelry. The instructor will provide beads, but feel free to bring your own beads or pieces you’d like to redesign.  $70 class $35 materials fee

Stringing WorkshopAmy Barrios of Independent Claws Jewelry
In this class you will learn how to professionally string and finish bracelets and necklaces. You will learn to use crimp beads and covers and how to choose the right type of clasp for the right piece. You will also discuss jewelry design basics such as color and composition and apply what you learn to your own custom-designed bracelet or necklace. The instructor will provide beads, but feel free to bring your own beads or pieces you’d like to redesign.  $35 class $30 materials fee  Saturday, November 7 1-3pm

Refashion your Jeans!Ara James of Aranonymous

Learn how to hand sew while embellishing a pair of jeans. In this 2 hour class we will focus on hand stitching while reworking a pair of jeans with your own style. Interesting fabrics, lace, trimmings, and bling will be provided. Bring a pair of jeans or pants and any appliques, fabric, trimmings and bling that you would like to use. $15 drop in

Love all those feather hair pieces you’ve been seeing everywhere lately? Wonder how to make one? It is not difficult. In this two hour class you’ll be well on your way, and you’ll have a finished beauty to take home with you! $25 class (feathers and materials included, tools provided)

Building a Better Doll: Doll Shaman 101STORM

Ready to modify your Barbie? In this class STORM will teach you how to transform your doll into your own One Of A Kind creation! You will learn how to properly repaint your doll’s face, modify her arms and curl her hair with each of the classes. We are focusing on completing one doll for this workshop but you will need to bring at least three Barbie dolls. Your Barbie dolls need to have long straight hair and plastic arms that are not jointed at the elbows. $20 fee per class $10 material fee.

Learn how to start and end your project- and everything in between! In this class you will make a pair of handwarmers that will teach you garter stitch, stockinette, and seed stitch, and how to seam your work. For this class, yarn will be provided, as will one set of needles. $60 classes $15 materials fee

For this second-project class, you will make a striped hat that will teach you to knit in-the-round, knit ribbing, change yarn, and decrease. For this class, yarn will be provided, as will one set of needles. $60 classes $15 materials fee

Make the perfect layering garment: a shrug! In this class, you will learn to knit lace, how to measure your work, and how to pick up stitches. Two lace stitch patterns will be provided, so you can choose how adventurous you want to be. For this class, gorgeous merino/silk yarn will be provided, as will one set of needles. $80 classes $40 materials fee
