INFINITE UNION: a three woman art show

Swankety Swank maven, Yabette Alfaro, and Fearless Leader of Trickster Art Salon, Stephanie Mufson, have teamed up (again!) to bring you an artful experience with a Central Market San Francisco Pop-up Gallery.

Infinite Union Artist Reception 12.14.13
Infinite Union Artist Reception 12.14.13

What is our connection to the Earth, her seas, her oceans, her tribes, her history? Is she really just a rock floating through space? Three artists explore the cosmic connection with our planet and beyond.

This Show combines their artistic works with the talents of Carina Alia Earl for Infinite Union: a three woman art show.

The gallery will be open from December 13-17 with daily hours from 11am to 5pm.

The Artist Reception will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 66 6th Street off Market St. in San Francisco.

The gallery will host live painting throughout the week, Saturday Artist Reception and a Sunday Event, “Super-Powered: Tools for Life” presented by Storm Ricon and Chris Resciniti.

More information on this and all participating will be posted on this site.

Rubber City Reflections Upon Exit: Celebration October 9

Akron has been good to me. My whole outlook on the arts in Midwest towns has changed. I see that me having been mostly gone for 13 years has not left Ohio without growth! (Insert wry smile here.) Attitudes have shifted to understand that supporting the arts is essential to revitalize depression, not only on personal levels, but for macro-city-wide improvement as well. There are so many more venues and actual art sales happening in Ohio these days; it lifts my spirit to have witnessed the new growth.

So join me in my last hurrah here this Wednesday, October 9th, at Lil’ RedPresents on 30 South Maple Street in Akron, Ohio. I am inspired by, dedicating, and donating my live creation to Lil’ Red and Joshua Page for their determination to bring more arts to Akron’s Nightlife. Watch my vision unfold on 36×96″ of blank board as you savor a mid-week drink, socialize with like minds, and shake it to the sounds of musician Derek, Dj’s Encyclopedia Brown and Secret Sauce.
Here’s the rest of my Akron story: the live paintings and reflections upon Ohio past, present, and future.

Join myself and artists Doug Meyer of Rustbelt Rebirth and Eartha L. Goodwin this Saturday, September 28th at The Earth Fare Block Party in Fairlawn, Ohio. We’ll be showing art furniture, photography and more! As always, you can get a piece for yourself here in my shop, but I will be offering special deals to Akron buyers!

The Block Party will also feature a bouncy house, crafts, give-aways, and many local artists!

Considerations of Canton Creativity

Unexpected inspiration in downtown Canton happened yesterday. This place is known for The Football Hall of Fame, not public art. However, public art and a district of galleries and locally produced goods was a refreshing surprise tucked away in another industrial city of Ohio.

Upon my Canton visit with local delight, Jenny Spencer, I witnessed the art of Joseph Carl Close with this poignant metal and painted sculpture on a parking deck in the arts district alley. Executed with precision and depicting scenes of metal factory workers, political rebellion, native American traditions, and musical expression, this work speaks to the heart of rust belt residents. I was not immune to its energy of truth and beauty.
