This August marks a year of partnering with brand ambassador Tiffany Marie Hill and we are thrilled to continue to bring more sustainable fashion options to the market! Focusing on the best results from the work of trunk sale market research around the country, testing fabrics, and customer feedback, we are launching a multi season/multi climate Capsule Collection.
These are editorial photos of a group of pieces that are sustainable as f*ck. While that is a cheeky expression, it’s energy and attitude is earnest. This collection stands out as being made with 100% sustainable fabrics and sewn fairly in the United States. (Most will be made in San Francisco, though some could be made in LA.) They will be offered in genderfluid sizes Small to 3x . Go here to order now.
I love the holidays. I love the lights and artful displays everywhere. I love drama and high impact style! While this 5×4′ “Joie de Vivre” painting is available for $3k (inquire at email@example.com to purchase) I am offering smaller art at gift prices from my year end bargains.
Here are a few examples of small art that makes a large impact. Go to the shop to see more art from as low as $50! View the portfolio (look at all options in the drop down menu) for the rest of the paintings that are available and email for purchase.
May your holiday season be drama-free, except in grand decor!! xxoo Yabette Continue reading →
Working on this collection and showing it on the sunny Castro walls of Sweet Inspiration has been a highly satisfactory experience. Most people do not close their successful retail shop to hole up in a studio to paint oils on canvas.
I did. I feel good about following my heart. This bold move has led me to many others, like unschooling my son, talking about ufo’s, and exploring Shamanic journeys. The truth is, life is too short to live for what everyone else thinks you should be doing. Having stepped out of my own box, I am living a kind of freedom I might have never known had I not taken steps continually towards it. The universe continues to support me in this endeavor, as I continue those steps in the freedom discovery tour that is currently my life!
The sadness of missing my Ohio tribe (I am NOT referring to baseball) is balanced by my joy of having my paintings on canvas represented in a fabulous show of talent by Ohio women. Earthtones: Aerie ballroom of the divine feminine for the Downtown AKron ARTwalk is happening this Saturday, April 5th in my glorious hometown of Akron, Ohio. It takes place at 57 E. Market St. with parking across the street at the Akron Art Museum parking garage.
Here’s one of the paintings to be included that epitomizes my love for Akron.
I also sent new work, inspired by the raven who first showed me I must leave my roots in an informal shamanic journey Kundulini Yoga class I took in Columbus, Ohio back in 1998. Since then, the raven appears in my visions and in the material world often as a synchronicity sign to keep aspiring to change, reaching for further heights of accomplishment in striving for my own life’s highest potential.
I will also have this Butterflies work on oil in this show. They show up in my world also as a sign of synchronicity and affirmation of my life path.
One of the best experiences I had in live painting last summer was with this tree captured at a joyful event on Lake Erie. I finished the details later and have this oil to represent the endless beauty of nature found in Ohio.
If you are near Akron next weekend, surely check out my work and many other talented photographers, painters, sculptors and musicians at this not-to-be-missed event curated by the amazing Eartha L. Goodwin. Infuse some divine feminine into your life and buy a piece for your home! xxooYabette
Akron has been good to me. My whole outlook on the arts in Midwest towns has changed. I see that me having been mostly gone for 13 years has not left Ohio without growth! (Insert wry smile here.) Attitudes have shifted to understand that supporting the arts is essential to revitalize depression, not only on personal levels, but for macro-city-wide improvement as well. There are so many more venues and actual art sales happening in Ohio these days; it lifts my spirit to have witnessed the new growth.
So join me in my last hurrah here this Wednesday, October 9th, at Lil’ RedPresents on 30 South Maple Street in Akron, Ohio. I am inspired by, dedicating, and donating my live creation to Lil’ Red and Joshua Page for their determination to bring more arts to Akron’s Nightlife. Watch my vision unfold on 36×96″ of blank board as you savor a mid-week drink, socialize with like minds, and shake it to the sounds of musician Derek, Dj’s Encyclopedia Brown and Secret Sauce.
Here’s the rest of my Akron story: the live paintings and reflections upon Ohio past, present, and future.
